Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows By J.K Rowling
Out of the 7 books in the series, I believe this is the best one and my personal favorite. It sent me straight back to that magical world of thestrals, goblins and talking paintings.
The story is very gripping, from the first chapters until nearly the end. Here everything is darker, like the wizarding world’s version of WWII. I actually felt fear of Voldemort’s rise to power and how very weak and unprepared Harry appeared to be (taking on his quest).
Compared to the previous books, this had more adventure and stories to tell. Free from the confines of Hogwart’s, their mission took them to different locations (mainly to stay away from the Ministry and the Death Eaters), and in the process showed that they were mere schoolchildren no more.
A different light on Albus Dumbledore is shed and a very pivotal revelation on Snape. How a young Albus was not as righteous as his older counterpart appears to be; and the relationship between Harry’s mother, Lily Evans and Severus Snape, explains a lot.
Amidst all the Snatchers and Death Eaters, running about to catch them or just wreaking havoc in the community, there are still some light moments. You are surely to expect them with either of the three Weasley brothers; the twins, Fred and George or Ron. Kreacher’s sudden change of heart also brightened their gloomy days in Number 12 Grimmauld Place, as Death Eaters continuously keep watch outside, ready to attack.
These fun moments however, are eclipsed by the demise of several loved characters. I could not help but cry and feel mournful as well, when Dobby was fatally stabbed by none other than the merciless Bellatrix Lestrange. Or in the thick of the battle at Hogwarts – Fred (half of the twins), Lupin and new wife (and mother) Tonks, became casualties. Even losing Mad-Eye felt tragic as he seemed like the best wizard next to Dumbledore.
It’s a wonderful end to such an amazing tale. Now, I think I’ll go and listen to the audio version.
