And who knows, it might even be your ticket to go mainstream. Every book and literature you write brings you one step closer to being the next Tim Ferriss, Stephenie Meyer or even JK Rowling. New York Times bestseller baby! No one can deny it, being an author is one of the best professions to be in terms of prestige and pure royalty payment bliss.

You can now actually accomplish things that used to take a whole organization to do - just you and your pen, or your laptop for that matter. No company and publisher bureaucracy to influence and muddle your craft. Yup, I’m talking about self publishing your eBook on the Internet.
In fact, a lot of people already make money writing eBooks and the numbers are quickly growing. The appealing factor is this: Most people don’t just get a nice income and replace their day jobs with it, but they also fill their banks up for early retirement.
Yes, I know writing may seem daunting for most people but if you take it one step at a time, you really can make money writing eBooks. Just take a systematic approach. Plan the tasks needed and organize your thoughts. It’s just a matter of choosing a topic, splitting that topic into chapters and then tackling it chapter by chapter.
So how do you exactly make money writing eBooks? Well, first choose a topic that you love or that at least you’re comfortable with. Then check if there is a market - meaning there will be people who would likely buy your eBook. This is important, because if there are no prospects to sell to, then you probably won’t make money with your eBooks.
Start with amazon.com and browse through their catalog. If there are existing books related to your chosen topic, then there’s probably a market for that niche. Also check out their Kindle section. Here is where a lot of people make money with digital eBook versions. Then do some double-checking via Google’s keyword tool. Plug in your topic of choice and make sure relevant and related keywords are getting consistent search traffic month in and month out.
Now, you don’t have to be confined to topics that you are currently familiar with. Branch out and derive other topics and niches as you go along. It is best to simple explore and unleash your creativity. “How To” types of eBooks are also popular and make a lot of money. Aside from that, these types of eBooks are actually among the easiest to write. Don’t sell yourself short; you might be pleasantly surprised at how much other people are willing to pay for what you know.
Once you’ve found a list of ideal topics and hungry markets, it’s time to start writing. It’s not as hard as you think, especially if you take it in tiny little bite sizes. And if you’ve got money to spare, you can always free your time and commission someone else to do the writing ;-)
Finally, look for and signup to sites that allow you to sell your eBooks. Clickbank and Paydotcom are good examples where a lot of people make money with their eBooks. The good thing is, these sites not only allow you to sell your eBook, but they also have a system that allows hundreds of affiliates or agents to sell your product for a percentage commission. Since you’re not selling a physical product, it won’t cost you any more to sell another copy of your eBook. So affiliates make money, you make money and everyone’s happy.
